“I was DYING when I met Meryl Streep”. I was a camp counselor when I was a teenager. It was a fancy camp, so in attendance we’re children of famous people, including Meryl’s son, Henry. I remember him clearly, at 8 he was an incredible artist. I decided to tell Meryl this story and she showed me so much earth and kindness. Luckily someone took a photo. #BTS  #MerylStreep . #GAGGED 

HBO asked me to direct a roundtable discussion with the cast of Big Little Lies. Being on set with so many strong, smart, talented, powerful women was a new ask for me and for that, it felt LARGE. Their personas precede them and it was on me to sit with six of the most recognizable and seasoned women in entertainment and get them to open up. In an hour. I focused on creating a space that was intimate and warm, that I felt lead to candid and revealing explorations. The cast connected their characters to their real life experiences, so as the women behind these characters told us how they breathed life into their stories, we gained more insight to who they were in their everyday. Being with these women was something i’ll never forget. And you know at some point I had to excuse myself and I cried just a little, I was feeling very proud.
