Back on it today after a rather lazy couple of weeks 😬
I’m aiming for the Great Wall of China Trek next year. Well, this morning I did the Great Wall of Holyhead 😂 I just got out of bed and decided to walk to the end of the breakwater and back (at a pace I may add 😃). A refreshing 6k walk, netting over 9,000 steps. As I walked the breakwater, choppy Irish sea on one side and calm waters the other I began to think how the wall is like mental health. It’s there to manage and protect the harbour and shore from the rough seas. The wall takes a battering and needs looking after ... otherwise if it’s neglected the rough seas will start to find its way through into calm waters 🌊. As I walked along, rough sea one side, calm the other I also thought ...this breakwater is like me! I’m trying to look after my mental health so that i don’t get pulled into difficult times but I’m not always in the calm - I’m in the middle doing my best to maintain my resilience while enjoying what the calm life has to offer.
A very reflective walk today then!!🧘🏼♀️The poppy photo was just a beautiful picture to take - a gorgeous flower growing through rubble and concrete - we can thrive through even the toughest of terrain 🌸
