It’s the eve of my birthday and tomorrow I will officially enter a new decade of life.
When I think back on the past 10 years, it honestly all seems like a blur. My biggest concern at 20 was if I going to pass organic chemistry (the first time through I withdrew from the class and later passed in summer school). 7 years ago I flew out to North Carolina to start my dietetic internship at Lenoir-Rhyne and would immediately feel a connection to the mountains. That feeling would later spark my move to Asheville and allow me to live my dream in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. 5 years ago I started grad school (one of the best decisions of my life) and would end up meeting the love of my life just a few months later.
I know “they” say that your twenties are crazy as you’re starting to discover who you are. My twenties definitely were. I’ve experienced loss, love, family illness, job changes, and a lot of moves. One thing I’ve learned is that nothing is permanent. Change is imminent and you can learn to either embrace it or run away from it. I’m definitely not perfect but I have been learning to embrace change especially in the past 3 years. Sometimes it’s easier said than done but hey that’s life I tell ya, I can’t deny it (now go listen to the Frank Sinatra classic “That’s Life”). I am genuinely curious what this next decade will bring and I am open to the infinite possibilities that await me 🦋
Oh and in case you were wondering my favorite grocery stores are Publix, Trader Joe’s, and Aldi 😜 (Thank you to my Aunt Chris for the awesome card!) #birthdayeve #dirty30 #newdecadewhodis #1989 #thatslife #dietitian #dietitiansofinstagram #registereddietitian #lifelessons #lifelessonslearned #letgo #change #runnersofinstagram #crossfit #asheville #wnc #828isgreat #leoseason
