We had a beach day planned today with a dear friend of mine and her little girl. We were packing up getting ready to head out the door, when Skye started crying in obvious pain. We couldn’t tell what was wrong because nothing looked particularly out of sorts. He hadn’t fallen and had no symptoms of being sick, but pain was evident in his cries. I put him on my breast and he instantly fell asleep. He’s been sleeping soundly now for over 3 hours. And I’m cuddled up next to him in my beach gear. For whatever reason, his little body needed rest, so we are resting.
Having a child has taught me so much about letting go of plans, being flexible, being present, and going with the flow. The beach will still be there when he wakes up, but for now, we rest. #Sunday
