Meet the team :: Emilee Moore - Hotel Manager.
Emilee grew up in her family-owned pub, The Brecknock. She was the 5th generation to run the pub.
She started working for the business at eight years old cleaning rooms for her parents when she was 13, she waited on tables and by 16 pouring beer.
Emilee has had extensive experience in hospitality. After the Brecknock, Emilee moved to Canada, as she has Canadian citizenship. Her initial plan was to stay for 1 year but ended up staying for 7 years because she loved it. In her time over in Canada, she became a Chef de Partie at a 5-star hotel in Niagara on the Lake.
She moved back to Adelaide and became the Hotel Manager for 9 years back at the Brecknock. She then decided to get out of pubs for a while and worked in roles at the Festival Theatre, Rigatta’s, the Convention Centre, The Stamford and the Entertainment Centre.
She's now the Hotel Manager, here at Sparkke at the Whitmore.
She moved to Sparkke because she likes the ethos, including being a female-led pub, and has a keen interest in their plans for the hotel industry. "In her years of working, she has never worked for a company with such amazing values coming from an industry that was predominantly male-dominated, it was a breath of fresh air to work with women who believed the same things I did." She says
Emilee likes going out and exploring the Adelaide scene, and glasses of wine normally accompany her.
Emilee also has a keen interest in solo-travel and has visited over 30 countries. She also loves to spend time with her nephew, Archie, who always wakes her up promptly at 7:30 am to play.
