Definitely sporting a fuller body lately 5’3 130- 135lbs, and 21% body fat. The last few months, I’ve been eating a lot more intuitively and a higher volume of food, however, I do slip up at times and eat junk. 🙂 I’m getting out of the habit of counting calories and macros as it’s causing me to place unwanted restriction through my diet..
At the moment my goal is to focus on living an overall healthy lifestyle by:.
eating more nutrient dense meals consistently, following a reasonable workout split, and finding more time daily to meditate and self reflect.
What I’ve learned in my fitness journey is that staying lean( around 14%- 17% body fat) can be a bit of a challenge. Focusing on eating for aesthetics doesn’t necessarily equate to a healthy diet or healthy lifestyle habits which can end up being unhealthy long term. Being in the fitness industry has a pressure to want to look leaner, “fitter”, and “better” all year around. For me I’m shifting my focus to what’s truly healthy and sustainable long term. There have been times I’ve lost motivation and joy in this lifestyle I have a lot of love, peace, and happiness for.
When setting fitness goals they should be realistic, retainable, and sustainable long term. Focus on how you feel in response to your training (are you completing and/ or following the majority of your workouts during the week?) and your diet (do you feel satisfied and satiated?). Working out and eating a healthy diet should be fun and should feel good, the moment you feel otherwise don’t hesitate to make adjustments. 💗
