Could you live on the Yorkshire coast in one of these pantile-roof cottages? Yes or No? I’ll bring a picnic! Love this shot from Staithes, nestled on the Yorkshire coast. Be great to live here, especially as you'll have access to fresh English fish and chips from a proper chippy right on your doorstep 🐟🍟 Photo by @yorkshire_brew
Staithes is steeped in history going back to the time of the Vikings and beyond. Its name stems from the Viking word meaning "landing place". In fact, the fishing used to be undertaken using the locally-built boats called 'cobles' that originated from Viking Long Boats. Once a busy fishing community, Staithes is a jumble of whitewashed, pantile-roof cottages clinging to the hillside, threaded through with narrow ginnels leading to the pretty harbour and beach. And being Yorkshire, you'll never get a finer cup of tea anywhere else in Britain. I’m not just saying that to get some free tea from @yorkshiretea. Yorkshire Tea, the tea lovers tea.
Friday is here and it’s warming up this bank holiday! Any amazing weekend plans? Lovely shot by @yorkshire_brew 🇬🇧 To be featured - follow and tag us in your shots. 'Ta! 🇬🇧
