No no no ...it was not deliberate, just a happy coincidence😍❤😍 That my kurti colour matches the background .
Finally made it to the Delhi Art District,Lodhi Road😂🤣
Hubby had been busy with travel for a long time.Got this leisure weekend together n made the most of it😍🤩🧚♀️🧚♂️
After a relaxed lazy day n an afternoon nap,had some tea n headed straight to Lodhi Road.Slow drive through the wide open alleys, enjoying the murals on the huge facades of British Era buildings presently occupied by government servants. Some insta worthy pics later, had a long detour drive through Lutyens' Delhi, the best thing a Delhiite can ask for.Lush green open spaces, wide roads is a luxury n a visual treat whenever in this part of the city.
Then we reached New Delhi Kali Bari for a special cutural evening.Bengali legendary singer-Haimanti Shukla had flown down to our city to enthrall us with her heavenly voice. To commemorate the 120th birth anniversary of Kazi Nazrul Islam-a pride of Bengal during British Raj.Now the National poet of Bangladesh and equally revered by Bengalis on this side(India).Titled 'Bidrohi Kobi',for his rebellious writings against British Rule.
A perfect evening with Maa Kaali on one side,Sandhya Aarti followed by a soul stirring rendition by Haimanti just on the opposite side stage. And before she sang, there were some poem recitation,solo/ group songs by local artists.Followed by a langar dinner of lucchi/aalor dum/chop/mishti(puri/alookisubzi/pakora/sweet
What else can you ask for on a beautiful breezy comfortable summer evening to wrap up your weekend.
Today as Beta is busy charting his life path,we have all the time to connect back to our root/culture in ways we had forgotten all these years of fast paced rushed up life
