I feel people’s advice about worry can be pretty condescending. Like “worrying makes you suffer twice!” Or “you miss being happy when you worry!” Ummm who chooses to worry when they could flip a switch and be happy?!? I think the best advice I’ve ever gotten about worrying is that you shouldn’t believe everything the voice in your head is saying you should worry about. It’s okay to worry, it usually means you care, but anxiety can be a liar. People probably aren’t talking badly about you, or thinking badly about you. You’re worthy of people’s time, attention and affection. If your anxiety is telling you otherwise, it’s probably lying.
