Do you still have your grandparents??????
This is my Papa. The boys call him Great Papa. And yes, I know how lucky I am to have grandparents at the age of 45. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Anyway, it's been a month today since he lost his wife of 63 years. I'll tell you that on their first date (a blind date, no less), he CARRIED her across a muddy lawn so her shoes wouldn't get dirty.
His strength, and grief, have been a source of comfort to me these last several weeks. He made hard decisions, ones he KNEW she wanted. He has told stories I've never heard, and ones I've heard a million times. We check in maybe every other day, and have started having breakfast once a week- something we did daily when Grandma was in the hospice facility.
This has nothing to do with health or fitness, except to say that sometimes your support comes from places you never expected. And that I would NOT be moving through this grief process as self-aware without my tribe and his example. He's for sure a light in my life.
