My first experience with Fragola @credarowines. Fragola was first introduced to Margaret River in the 1920s and has been a central part of the estate’s history since it’s inception. While the winery did not become commercial until the 1980s, Fragola was the family’s bread and butter for decades before that.
A variety whose lineage is somewhat unknown, thought to be a cross of vitis vinifera and vitis lambruscana, Fragola (meaning strawberry) is not necessarily associated with premium wine making. Having said that, this example I found aromatic and complex, with blue fruited overtones mixed with rosella flower, rosehip, pomegranate and maraschino cherry.
