Savory Walnut Meat By: @FounderofProjectVeg  . 1 to 2 lbs of Raw Walnuts (unsalted) 1 Green Pepper (chopped) 1 Orange Pepper (chopped) 1 Onion (diced) Herbs of Choice Pinch of Cayenne Pepper (Ground) 2 pinches of Pink Himalayan Salt Coconut Aminos (key ingredient for flavoring & coloring. We used @BigTreeFarmsBali  brand😋 original version. It's super delicious😋) Black Pepper (optional) Grapeseed oil . . Soak walnuts overnight or put into a large part of hot water, let simmer until tender to touch. Drain liquid. Transfer walnuts into blender or food processor a little at a time until walnuts turn into crumbles. Then, take crumbled walnuts and saute them with the ingredients listed above until they turn a little tender and brown or until the peppers and onions get tender & carmelized. . Is it too early for a pizza post? 🍕🍕🍕 this gluten free dairy free pizza from @doublezeromk  that I got last night was BEYOND!! I often get asked how I sustain eating “clean” or avoid binging and my answer is that I eat whatever I feel like, and if there’s a healthier way to do so I will opt for it. THAT SAID - if you want the REAL gluten, dairy, sugar, whatever it is - PLS GO FOR IT! Restriction and deprivation leads to cravings and binges in my experience. Being overly stressed about eating clean is just as detrimental (if not more) than just eating the damn thing you want. Obviously that is not to say eat pizza and pasta and ice cream all day every day but you know...the b world...balance! I didn’t mean to get preachy this early in the day but it’s taken me a while to get here and if I can reach one person then I’m happy 🙏🏽 happy Monday babes 🍕

Bet you have EVERYTHING you need to make this RIGHT NOW! Hence why it’s my most used chicken marinade 😇 . Makes the chicken extra juicy and injects savoury flavour with touch of sweet. Tons of sub options, and always turns out great - wish I could say that about all my recipes. Unlike that time a lady made my mushroom rice recipe with quinoa and zucchini instead of MUSHROOMS and RICE and left a really peeved message on my site when it didn’t turn out 😂😂 . Great one to make now and pop straight in freezer - chicken will marinate while thawing. If meal prepping, use thigh - so much juicier when reheated! ~ N x ❤️ . Just a Great Chicken Marinade . (See full recipe on site for more details eg bake times for bone in, full list of subs etc) . 700g / 1.4 lb chicken breast, tenderloins or thigh (boneless skinless) CHICKEN MARINADE: 2 tbsp brown sugar (or 1.5 tbsp honey, maple) 1 tbsp olive oil (or any oil) 5 tbsp soy sauce (any other than dark or sweet soy, or 4 tbsp water + 1 tsp salt) 2 tbsp lemon juice (or cider vinegar, rice wine, red or white wine vinegar) 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce 4 garlic cloves , minced (3 tsp jar) 1 tsp dried oregano (or rosemary, thyme, minced herbs) 1/2 tsp black pepper , ground . 1. Recommended: Pound breast to even thickness using a meat pounder, rolling pin, or fist. OR cut large ones in half horizontally to form 2 cutlets (steaks) for each. 2. Mix marinade in a ziplock bag (or container in which chicken fits snugly). Marinate chicken 3 hrs to overnight, though even 30 minutes is effective* 3. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat, cook whole breast or boneless thighs 3 – 4 min each side until deep golden (cutlets 2 - 3 min each side). If browning too quickly, lower heat. 4. Transfer to serving plate, cover loosely with foil and rest for 3 minutes before serving, garnished with parsley and lemon slices if desired. . . Woke up with the worst huge swollen tummy AGAIN! It’s hurting 😢...... BUT met with my NEW doctor today and she is amazing 🥰........ Listening to every detail I gave her she’s concerned I have some sort of inflammation on intestines/bowel alongside #endometriosis  💛 So I’m being tested and she thinks it could be #crohnsdisease  .... Another thing to add to the list but I’ve got this 💪🏼 I just can’t live with the huge tummy that ain’t me 😩 It hurts, it’s uncomfortable, it’s tender! Not helping the healing process at all!!! Also bloods have been taken as been feeling so faint since the surgery plus having pain around right kidney! I am no longer giving my power away to doctors. ⠀ ⠀ I have suffered from GI problems my whole life and I am just now realizing how important it is to be in tune with my body. ⠀ ⠀ Your body is a amazing thing and it doesn’t want to be sick or have anything wrong with it. It is designed to give you signals so that you can help it correct what is wrong. The only problem is is that we have been told not to listen to our bodies for so long that we ignore a lot of it. ⠀ ⠀ Our brains are clouded with commercials for medication and the fear of going to the doctors and them thinking you are crazy. Have you been there?? Believe me, I have been there for way too many times. ⠀ ⠀ I have finally started taking my GI health to a new level with my self being in the lead, not a doctor. Now if I was in severe pain or bleeding in any way I would for sure go to the doc but I’m not. I’m just in discomfort, bloating, sometimes constipated or the other end of the spectrum lol. ⠀ ⠀ So I have decided to pay close attention to how and when I’m eating, what I’m eating, and how I feel. I’m taking an enzyme and a probiotic. The enzymes have made a HUGE difference. ⠀ ⠀ I have been eating more veggies and more healthy fats. Which have also made a big difference. I now longer wake up in the morning with a tummy ache. ⠀ ⠀ My point is, don’t give all of your power over to someone else. YOU are the only one who knows your body. // COFFEE + BREASTFEEDING //⁣ ☕️don’t panic, it’s totally fine! 😂 but did you know caffeine is found in your breastmilk within 15 mins with the highest concentration about 60 mins after your coffee? Some babies are super sensitive to it, others not at all. 🤷🏼‍♀️ newborns are especially sensitive with it taking 80 hours to break down half of the caffeine. By 6 months old they can do it in 3 hours.⁣ ⁣ I went out for Mother’s Day and the cafe served me up a much stronger latte than I ordered. I had it and my twins literally didn’t go to sleep until 2am. They were so wired, irritable and tired, but could not go to sleep for over 6 hours!⁣ 😖 ⁣ Have you ever noticed your baby sensitive to coffee? Colicky? Irritable? Unable to sleep?

We wash ourselves daily but do we ever take time out to cleanse our insides? . . DAY 2 Today I was reminded of why fasting isn’t really ideal for busy or stressed people. This morning was rather hectic as I realized I’d got an appointment time wrong and so we had to hustle to get to it. My cortisol and adrenaline levels went up. Which in turn increases your blood glucose levels. By the time it got to the afternoon juice which had many tomatoes, carrot and an orange in it, I felt quite woozy. That’s usually my sign for higher blood sugar levels. To help increase happy, relaxed feelings, my almost 15yo (😮) and I stopped at the @rspcavictoria  to pat kittens on our way back from the appointment. It was so relaxing, even when he then bugged me all afternoon to go back and adopt the 15yo cat we saw. 😩😍 #empathy  Another rookie error today, I’ve run out of some of the juice ingredients! I counted the number of each vegetable I’d need from the recipes - but didn’t notice the weights given until today (slow down Sarah!). Weights ended up being quite a bit more than what I’d counted. Vegan pad Thai for lunch 🌱 This recipe is super delicious and simple... nothing more needs to be said!! It will not disappoint! Garlic Tofu Chives Tamari Miso paste Chilli flakes Lime Bean shoots Shredded carrot Shredded purple cabbage Coriander Peanuts crushed GF rice noodles Cook tofu first as you like it, followed by the rice noodles separately following packet instructions. Then add the garlic chives and bean shoots in the pan with the cooked noodles, tamari, miso and fry up a little. Arrange in the bowl with the extras and top with crushed peanuts 🥜

In yesterday's post about avocados I mentioned the benefits of monounsaturated fats on cholesterol and similarly, polyunsaturated fats, (that's the omega 3's and 6's) are also good at reducing LDL cholesterol (that's the one you want in lower amount - HDL is the one you want in higher amounts). . Walnuts are an excellent source of plant-based omega 3's and contain alpha-linolenic-acid (ALA). ALA's are part of the anti-inflammatory omega 3 pathway along with EPA/DHA (the omega 3's largely sourced from oily fish or marine algae). . Omega 3's are another nutrient good for your skin due to their anti-inflammatory properties and supplementation, for example, has proven beneficial in treating acne.
