CHANGE MAKERS. Part 1/2 — “If you’re free you need to free somebody else. If you have power, you need to empower somebody else” - Toni Morrison.
Being unemployed and pretty much isolated in a foreign country for the past 9 months gave me an opportunity to really focus on my inner self for the first time in my life.
It led me to the point where I couldn’t help but drop my ego and listen to what my true self needs to feel, well... happy. Satisfied. Complete.
We’re constantly in pursuit of success of any kind, money, fame - all those things that (in our opinion) would bring happiness to our lives. I mean, come on. Think for a moment. Isn’t it true?
It dawned on me that I was frustrating about not having some sort of things I thought were necessary for me when millions of people in the world didn’t have, you know, clean drinking water. Access to hygiene. A roof over their heads. Education. Employment. Family.
There’re so many people in the world who I could help by stopping to pursue things that I don’t really need and sharing something I’ve already got. Something I’ve got but they don’t.
And I finally figured out what to do. -𝘛𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘹𝘵 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘵-
