I can truly say that it was the best place ever that I visited in Istanbul🇹🇷. Personally, I love❤ being on top of something high. I love watching👁 a town or somewhere from the top. If you have the same character with me, strongly recommending you to visit Galata Tower👌🏻. It is not expensive such as other touristic places of Istanbul🇹🇷. But you might have to wait for long time because it has a long ticket tail in front of it.⏳
🚩There are 2 legends which are transmitted differently about Istanbul’s famous Galata tower.
1) According to the beliefs of the Romans,💘 “If a man👨🎨 and a woman👩🎓 in the Galata tower first come together at the same time, they are absolutely married.👰🤵” Of course, if one of the two of them went out alone before, this charm broke down.💔
2) Another legend is the love💘 of the Maiden’s Tower and the Galata Tower to each other. They are said to have challenged together👌🏻 for centuries because of their feelings toward one another.
🇹🇷About Galata Tower / Galata Kulesi
Galata Tower built by the Genoese in 1348. For the Megalos Pyrgos (Great Tower) built by the Byzantines at a nearby but different location📍 (closer to the sea)🌊 and destroyed during the Sack of Constantinople by the Latin Crusaders in 1204, see Galata Tower (old). The Galata Tower (Galata Kulesi in Turkish) — called Christea Turris (the Tower of Christ in Latin) by the Genoese — is a medieval stone tower🧱 in the Galata/Karaköy quarter of Istanbul, 🇹🇷Turkey, just to the north of the Golden Horn's junction with the Bosphorus🚢. It is a high, cone-capped cylinder that dominates the skyline🌥 and offers a panoramic vista of Istanbul's historic peninsula and its environs.
