To make the sauce, combine: 1/2 cup chopped white onion 1/2 cup cashews 1/2 cup - 3/4 cup cashew milk (less milk = thicker sauce) 1/4 cup nutritional yeast 1 tbsp olive oil 1 tbsp garlic powder 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar 2 tbsp @seedtosprout  vegan parm (optional but super tasty) in a blender until well blended. When I was hyper-focused on macros, Zack and I would make separate meals a lot because I wanted to know the exact measurements/macros. I still don’t bash macros because it can be helpful for some ‼️ but guys, this was sad. And it’s something I still see in those who count macros. That meals aren’t just meals anymore but perfect calculations 📊 and typically eating that meal alone. . Now, we make a dinner together or prep things and throw things together. Like this meal, we roasted the veggies and grilled shrimp, had an avocado 🥑 we sliced up at the table and talked about our highs and lows of the day and it was just that. A meal together. A realization that weighing food prob won’t create the memories I have from that dinner. So I urge you to make a meal with someone else and throw things together 🖤 Meals should be messy and gray, not black and white and calculated. #dietitiandeanna  . Okay guys, let’s talk NSV (non scale victories)! I bought this shirt in Seaside, FL in 2012. I loved it at first sight. I had to have it. Like really. We saw it in a boutique, but they did not have my size. They actually had a size that was two sizes to small at the time that I bought it. I actually left the store without the shirt, but could not quit thinking about it. So I called back a couple of days later and purchased over the phone. This shirt has moved across state lines and has resided in 5 different addresses of mine (my husband has threatened me that we are not moving for at least 10 years 😉). . So after doing this whole macro counting thing for a few days, Today I thought to myself where have all my fruits and veggies been?? I was focusing on things like bread and pasta as carbs. But it dawned on me that veggies also are carbs, but they are better carbs. My results have been so rewarding each day. I can’t believe I’ve lost 5 pounds in less than a week!!! I’ve been on a lot of restrictive diets in my life and what I’m loving is how on @macrostax  it will give so many suggestions. So when I’m not sure what to have, I can hit the build button and boom options. Tomorrow I’m going to follow a recipe for peanut butter, banana protein muffins. I’ve been looking forward to breakfast most, which I used to skip because I always deemed myself “not a breakfast person” It has been super simple and I’ve been using all foods that I already have on hand.

Dinner for one this evening. The boys have headed out of town for baseball and my girl is with her BFF. So just mom in her kitchen. I have to tell you my little love affair with sweet potatoes and brussel sprouts absolutely did not start until the @fasterwaytofatloss  entered my life. Big thanks to @loganfpeterson.  I can’t quite explain it. I mean I’m telling you if these guys could bring home a paycheck, my hubs might have room for concern 🤫. My body started craving these healthy whole foods. I eat this combo about every 4th day. No lie. The best way I can describe it is...I used to be a 1980 Ford Escort that only took regular unleaded and barely made it through the entire day without ending up stranded on the side of the road and now I’m a Jaguar who requires PREMIUM only and just wont perform to my max without the good stuff. Oh, and this Jaguar has lost over 15 lbs and Lord only knows how many inches. I haven’t measured in awhile. But ask yourself...are you a 1980 Escort or a 2020 Jag. Oh you’re a Jag baby. On the left, I was 13lbs heavier than I had ever been in my life. It’s crazy what a year long surplus can do for your physique. It had been a few years since I truly committed to a consistent surplus of calories. And paired it with consistently with smart but intense bodybuilding style training. On the left, I was 185lbs. The heaviest I had ever been before was 172lbs. And my body composition was the same at those two weights. So to see how I look at 170lbs is pretty damn cool. I feel really good at this weight. I can maintain it with ease. I am not food focused at all. I still have a ton of flexibility with my nutrition. Still not tracking macros. Haven’t the whole cut. My biofeedback is still really good. Energy is great. Productivity is at an all time high. Just overall feeling really good. My point with this post is that the guy on the left, aka the guy that was the heaviest he had ever been, is soo damn grateful he took the time to invest in himself. And by investing in himself I mean, staying in the prolonged surplus. Not giving into the inner voice saying to keep his abs. Not giving into the insecurities on his jawline disappearing and his face getting round. He aka Zach Rocheleau aka me, am soo damn proud of myself for sticking with it. And I plead with you to do the same. You will not regret this investment in yourself.

W I N N I NG M O R N I N G 🏁 - Some days it just happens. It sticks. It clicks. It works. And you don’t even know how, but you’ll take it. - This morning that was it for me. My weaknesses lie in many areas, but anything squat related is the biggest struggle for me. But somehow magically or not so magically, I nailed it. I was working on a weight lifting complex and my body was moving like butter, and the weights were going up higher than I had imagined for myself. And best of all no pain, thank you treatments! - I literally keep saying “ I got stronger!” while doing my happy dance after every accomplished lift. I’m not sharing this to show off, by any means but I am showing this because I believe 2 things the power of hard work + the power of self believe. - You can train your body all you want to get stronger, but you best ensure you train your mind to believe in your strength too. - It’s takes a lot of consistent hard work in the gym to build physical strength. And it’s takes double that hard work to building your mental capacity. Like any muscle in your body, the more you train it the stronger it will get. The more you feed it what it needs the better it can support you. - That said, make sure you put in consistent time working both your physical and mental muscles. - GO OUT THERE AND MAKE IT HAPPEN! All of it, every little or big goal you have for yourself! OWN IT. CHASE IT. WORK FOR IT. ✌🏻

Morning routine** Breakfast is by far my favorite meal, it’s the only meal I usually get to cook from scratch everyday. I found something I really like so I’ve stuck with it. I’ve been really consistent with this for a while now, first thing in the morning I cook meal 1 and 2 hours later I get my oatmeal as a secondary meal, but along with my breakfast I always get a cup of mushroom coffee from @foursigmatic  which I totally love.
