#tbt … 2010. Brasil Ride Stage Race. I was just getting into endurance racing and this was my 2nd ever stage race. I’ve done 35+ stage races since! Brasil Ride race times are 30+ hours- it’s one of the longest and hardest stage races on the planet. 2010 was the very first year of this event, and I was awestruck by it. It was also my first time racing outside the country. I raced it mixed/coed with @jeffkerkove. .
I’ve raced Brasil Ride 3 more times since then (the last was in 2017 and taking the W with @quadsworth ) I love looking back at this event because it was by FAR the hardest thing I had ever done. It was a door opening to show me how deep I could go into my soul. It put down some deep roots in resilience and toughness. .
It’s amazing to see how much I’ve changed and grown in the last 9 years. If you had asked this 26 year old girl in this muddy picture where she thought her life would be almost a decade later, she would NEVER have imagined it. Saying YES to things that are big challenges, being willing to go deep, be honest with ourselves, own and eventually eliminate our excuses, and keep moving FORWARD when it gets hard is probably one of the MOST important things we can do. It teaches us who we are, what we are capable of, builds confidence, and makes us better. Can’t wait for the next opportunity to go big and be brave. I strive to do it every day in some shape or form! #doepicshit
