A young Punjabi boy once saw a movie named Eight Below. He was so fascinated by the idea of dog sledding, that he decided that one day he will have his own dog sled. (so stupid of him)
He got busy in his studies and then his carreer and he almost forgot his dream. Fast forward to 2016, he saw an online competition which selected 20 odd people from all over the world and took them on an epic 10 day trip giving everyone a personal dog sled. A golden opportunity, he thought. It was time for him to make his dream come true.
He applied, but in this age of social media, numbers are everything. That competetion was based on votes and he tried his best to ask people to vote for him. He obviously could not make it. He applied again the next year, same result. (so stupid of him again)
But as we say in Punjabi "graari ad gyi", he kept looking for new ways. Then one fine day he struck gold. He got an all expenses paid trip to Greenland, he got to live with the locals for a month, he got to learn the skills of dog sledding and arctic fishing, he saw an effing dog sled race. And most importantly, he got his own dog sled!! It was bitterly cold and he didn't anticipate that. He was freezing almost everyday, but he was happy for what he was experiencing. He was living his dream after all.
That boy is a man now, but he still dreams about stupid things. And he is going live them all.
P.S. This pic is from that annual dog race.
