Makeup Review: Nyx Ultimate Edit Petite Palette in Ash (around £6 on Cult Beauty). ____________________________________________
I purchased the Ash palette a few months ago because of the beautiful cooler-toned shades. The colour story is stunning and the silver shade on the left is truly unique - a white-silver with a lavender shift. Nyx's eyeshadow formula isn't the most consistent and, coupled with the fact that purple and blue eyeshadows are challenging to formulate, I was a little hesitant to try the Ash palette.
The mattes in this palette are hard-pressed and, except for the purple shade, are quite pigmented. They apply evenly and blend really well and, to be honest, I don't mind that I have to layer/build up the pigmentation of the purple shade because it is quite bold. The shimmer shades in the palette are decently pigmented, smooth but not very creamy. They're best applied with a finger and they definitely need a tacky base/eye primer underneath. With an eye primer, these eyeshadows last the entire day but the intensity of the shimmer shades does fade. All in all, this isn't the easiest eyeshadow formula I've tried but I still really enjoy using this palette.
