I had almost given up. @adambrandemihl had provided amazing and supremely appreciated help with where @show_me_the_bird and I might find Yellow-throated Warblers (Setophaga dominica), but I had almost given up after walking around the park for several hours. It had been my last day in Ohio and I had found myself in Columbus chasing this warb that had eluded me for years. I had had but a scant look at one in South Carolina back in 2015, but a photo...pfft. No.
Then this little one sang, and I stopped walking. This warb was incredible to see! A feisty little one missing its left eye and showing no I'll effects. Life, indeed, finds a way... These birds, much like the Ceruleans we have here in western NY, are canopy breeders, and migration is one of the few times we can spot them lower in the vegetation.
