For us happiness and love is not about expensive things, fancy dinners or daily flowers and gifts. Our happiness is hidden in the smallest things and we show our love in the simplest ways. It’s not about how often we say “I love you” but it’s about how often we show it. Those tiny gestures like shifting your things around to make time for each other, making a morning coffee for your loved one or putting a toothpaste on their toothbrush is saying “I love you”. When opening your eyes and kissing your other half on the forehead is saying “I love you”. Warming up their side of the bed before they get in is also a way of saying “I love you” Don’t just say it, show it! That’s always the best way ♥️ #santardtravels

With my beautiful mum 😍 So lucky and so happy to have you as my mother. You have taught me how to be strong, independent and how to deal with even ugliest situations in life. I am thankful to have had this opportunity to be next to you for the past six months and build our relationship to be a better one. Thank you for everything! We have gone through so much, but at the end of the day we have each other. Far away or close by, I love you from the bottom of my heart ♥️

Thank you for awesome six months together, thank you for letting me to get to know you better! Beyond happy to have had the opportunity to reconnect with you. Love you and will miss you my little fool ♥️ #sisters

There are so many different paths to walk in your life, but how to choose the right one? Follow your heart! Even though it’s scary and you are afraid, it’s about the courage and faith. Believe in yourself and keep moving forward. What’s meant to be will happen, but you can change the direction in which it happens. Taking the wrong path will teach you a lesson, but not choosing any will teach you nothing. Following your heart might be the scariest thing you ever will do, but believe me, that will be the most rewarding and the most memorable experience of your life! Be brave and do it! 💪🏽 #santardtravels

It has been wonderful to see the change from frozen everything to everything blooming and lushing green! It’s crazy what few months can do! So always remember in whatever situation you are at the moment, it’s not permanent. Everything is going to change in a blink of an eye, embrace it! #santardtravels

Fresh air and sunshine has added some colour to Santa’s cheeks or maybe she is just being shy!?🤭 “Shy” is not the word to describe Santa’s personality so it must be the work of Mother Nature. Spending two weeks in the countryside has made her more cheerful and definitely happier. Santa grew up in the countryside of Latvia, but lost touch with it due to many years of traveling and living abroad. Nevertheless, nature has always been close to her heart and one day she hopes to find her new “home” far away from a city. During the past two weeks she had a chance to reconnect and re-live her childhood memories while doing all the countryside jobs. At last, Ard doesn’t need to listen to her repetitive memory line over and over again! 😅 Been there, done that, move on chica! #santardtravels

Get out of the city to experience the true beauty Latvia has to offer! 🇱🇻 If you can appreciate nature, you will love Latvia! The sheer volume of wild nature makes Latvia one of the greenest countries in the world. Latvia has over 12500 rivers, as well as 2256 lakes that are bigger than a square kilometre. And Latvian seaside is almost unspoiled by resorts, restaurants or holidaymakers all over the 500 km white sand beach. Green forests, mires, marshes with all its inhabitants. Hundreds of wolves and lynxes, thousands of otters, beavers and birds. Step by one of many rural farms and say HELLO! Typical rural farmyard is the soul of Latvia, where one lives in harmony with the cycle of nature and many still look just as they did centuries ago. #santardtravels

A reminder of the nature still asleep😴 It all changed in a split of a second, now it’s all luscious green🍃 Here in Latvia you can enjoy all four seasons and that is truly an amazing experience. When you think about it, nature going through all these cycles, can you relate it to human life too?🤔 #santardtravels

Last few days in Santa’s homeland and it’s time to slowly start saying our goodbyes. After many years abroad Santa spent six months in Latvia reconnecting with her family and friends. It has been a joy to have the opportunity. We travelled Latvia, we volunteered here and we had our fair share of adventures, but soon it’s time to move on and explore a continent we haven’t visited before. It’s all about stepping out of your comfort zone and we are about to do just that! #santardtravels

Three days hiking trip in Gauja National Park, our last adventure in Latvia. We walked more than 50km and the trail was absolutely beautiful! We got a chance to meet few animals on the way and explore the beautiful nature Latvia has to offer. We pitched our tent right next to the Gauja River and woke up with a gorgeous view. We had the luxury to be the only ones in the campsite, therefore we also could enjoy skinny dipping instead of our regular showers. In few words- weekend well spent! If you didn’t have a chance to see what we were up to, head to our highlight section and have a glimpse before you watch our full video coming out later this week✌🏽 #santardtravels

Back in his zone🌲 Second day hiking in Gauja National Park and it has been awesome so far! Check out our IG stories to see what we are up to✌🏽 #santardtravels

Throwback to the beginning of our travels together few moons back 🌖 Totally unplanned we went to visit my friend in Paris. It was my first time visiting the city of love therefore I was pretty excited. We had great couple of weeks enjoying the beautiful weather (it was still snowing back in Latvia) and stuffing our bellies full of fresh baguettes and cheese. 🥖 🥖 🥖 #santardtravels

For those who appreciate architecture, Riga is a great place to visit 🏠 Up to eight centuries of architectural variety adorn the Latvia we see today. It has evolved from the wooden dwelling of the traditional extended family to the hill of glass of the new National Library of Latvia. Take a stroll through Riga’s streets and you will be able to see beautiful buildings on every corner. Some left unattended, but that makes them even more special. #santardtravels

We’re back in Riga and we’re serving our last two weeks here. 1/2 year for Santa and 3 months for Ard and we both think that’s plenty. Other than friends and family, we don’t think Latvia has much to offer for either of us for the moment. Being comfortable is a choice and it is a great aspect in each of our lives. The known, familiarity, the ability to control our circumstances and being safe and secure. However, with unfamiliarity, comes the unknown, having to trust other people and to trust ourselves for that matter. We want to live our lives by embracing some level of risks, overcoming uncertainty and challenges. In that, it gives the both of us a personal sense of achievement. It helps us to grow as an individual as a couple and to achieve our potential. For us, embracing unfamiliarity helps us to find the true meaning for ourselves rather than accepting the format from someone else’s projection. Let us know what you think? Leave your comments below! #santardtravels

St. Peter’s Church is the tallest of the Riga churches and one of the most valuable monuments of medieval architecture in the Baltic States. It is located in the historical center of Riga and in 1997 was included among the UNESCO World Heritage sites. Its tower is almost 130m high and offers a breathtaking view of the red roofs of Old Town, the modern part of the city, Riga Bay and the Daugava River with its large port. At St. Peter’s Church you can also enjoy art exhibitions, attend concerts or simply have a tour. It’s also located in the middle of Riga Old Town, so you will find other objects of interest as well as nice places to stop by for a cup of coffee or grab a bite. Enjoy your time in Riga Old Town! #santardtravels

First time for Ard being half way across the world for a very long time and to do it with the love of his life, nothing can top that. New learning curves everyday, new discoveries and great adventures that will come our way soon. Ard is incredibly fortunate to be able to share his memorable travel experiences with his special one. Traveling as a couple pushes you to learn new things, learn to compromise, and learn to have patience with one another. And at the end of the day ‘’It doesn’t matter where you are going, it’s who you have beside you'' #santardtravels

Close to a month being at The Rostes, we can’t reiterate how amazing it has been and to top it off like a cherry on a cake, we can’t tell you how beautiful this journey has been for the each of us, respectively. This is our first time volunteering together as husband and wife and we managed to learn a lot from Clare and Edgars. From knowledge about herbalism, to the technicals of running a farmstead and being self-sufficient. Not everyone could have pulled it off being cut off from the comforts of the city life, but they did it and we’re proud of their legacy! More importantly, we also observed and learned to be ‘better parents for the future’. In a lifetime, I don’t think many couples have the opportunity to volunteer and coexist with another family. To be given the opportunity to do this first hand was a great experience. Today we finally bid farewell to them and to ‘The Rostes’ thank you for moulding us into a better couple and better individuals all around. Hopefully we meet them somewhere on the road again! Adios! #santardtravels

Always remember to SMILE 😊 It’s such a simple gesture but it goes a long way. It’s a way to greet someone, it’s a way to say thank you and it’s a simple way to make your and someone else’s day a better one. Just smile and be happy! #santardtravels

As it has become a little warmer outside people are getting out more often and the streets of Riga are more lively now. Kaņepes Kultūras Centrs is one of the really cool places in Riga. It has a very relaxed and easy-going vibe as well as a nice and friendly crowd. They play good music, have good and cheap drinks and a big backyard for you to chillout. If you are in Riga and are looking for a nice place to spend your afternoon/evening, head straight there! #santardtravels

Back to the place where I feel at home - ROSTES♥️ Amazing place, amazing people & once again making memories! #santardtravels

Here at The Rostes, finally reunited with the love of my life and surrounded by other amazing people, we couldn’t ask for any more! Coming back to this place opened our eyes a little more again. We realised that being in a places where you feel really comfortable and in a place that’s close to your heart, contributes a lot to your general wellbeing and it’s amazing how it could change the way one perceives things. Have you ever felt at “home” at some place during your travels? What was the place and what was that made it so special? #santardtravels

A reminder of the nature still asleep😴 It all changed in a split of a second, now it’s all luscious green🍃 Here in Latvia you can enjoy all four seasons and that is truly an amazing experience. When you think about it, nature going through all these cycles, can you relate it to human life too?🤔 #santardtravels

SIMPLICITY🌱 Santa loves walking bare feet, that’s how she connects with the earth and that makes her extremely happy! We try our best to live with as little as possible. We don’t carry much clothes or other possessions, we only have one backpack each, for our trip around the world. To fill our bellies, to have a shelter for the night and to simply be happy are our priorities, the rest is secondary. Much love & have a good weekend everyone!✌🏽 #santardtravels

It was a spontaneous idea to go for a short road trip and we ended up at the beautiful Rundale Palace. It was about the closing time when we reached, but the man was kind enough to let us in the garden for a quick view. As it was still early spring, only the first spring flowers made their appearance. If you visit the garden during summer season, you will be amazed how beautiful it gets. During the warm season they also host various garden parties and concerts worth visiting. As we reached at closing time, we didn’t get to visit the museum inside, but if you have a chance, you should! Rundale Palace is one of Latvia’s greatest architectural monuments and is significant as a Baroque-era palace. Only about an hour drive away from Riga & few other places to catch on the way. Happy Friday everyone!✌🏽 #santardtravels

Whether it’s building a sandcastle or changing a diaper, Ard loves to be around kids and they love him too. One day, we hope to have children on our own and Santa is delighted for Ard’s patience and skills when it comes to kids. But as they say, it’s a different story when you have your own. Let’s wait and see!😁 #santardtravels

GREEN🌿 And it’s finally green everywhere, the most beautiful time of the year SPRING! To see nature waking up is spectacular!Bare trees are finally dressed in their green coats, flowers are blooming and showing off the brightest palette of colours. Also birds are making their way back and spoiling us with their beautiful chirping on every corner. To enjoy the beauty of spring, people get out in the nature for boat rides, hikes and BBQ. The greyness is gone, not only in nature but in people’s hearts too. Now you can see them smile a lot more often!😊 #santardtravels

Today we part our ways for a week as Ard is following his heart which leads him back to the countryside 🌿 Santa has some things to settle back in Riga but hopefully will be able to join him next week🤞🏽 It is important for us to feel free in our relationship. Both of us have our personal interests and goals and we give each other the space and freedom to work on that. And NO that doesn’t make us bad husband & wife, quite the opposite! ♥️ #santardtravels

No two sunsets are ever the same whether it’s the sky or the scenery there is always something unique about each and every one of them. Last weekend we finally had a chance to watch the sun go down on the beautiful beach in Saulkrasti. The most surprising part is that we shared this special moment with only a friend couple more people on the beach. It was really darn beautiful! 😍 #santardtravels

Sunshine is a friend of mine! Lifts my mood, warms me up and somehow makes me smile a lot more often 😊 Sunny weekend everyone! ☀️ #santardtravels

No doubt, the city boy has fallen in love with the countryside! Totally new environment and a lifetime experience for Ard. He was so excited and keen to take up any task even though he was not familiar with most of it, and that’s how you learn! Stepping out of your comfort zone is everything in order to truly live. To choose unfamiliar path takes guts at times, but you are always rewarded with unforgettable experience. Good or bad, that’s another story, however that’s still an experience to learn from. Stepping out of your comfort zone also gives you a chance to learn something new about yourself and grow as a person. Nothing is still in this world and you shouldn’t be either. Get out there, try something new! You will be amazed how fulfilling and rewarding it feels! #santardtravels

How does it feel to constantly change your environment while traveling and volunteering? Both of us find ourselves pretty easy to adapt to new places and to new people, however it’s not always immediate. For instance, Rostes is a homestead where we volunteered for two weeks and we lived together with the family. They were the most amazing and most welcoming of people. They were very easy going about everything too. Even though we felt really comfortable, from the first moment we arrived, it took us almost two weeks to finally get used to everything and find ourselves at home. The relationship you have with people plays a big part in being comfortable at the places you go to. To establish a personal connection that turns into a friendship, you usually need abit of time. Ofcourse there’s always instant chemistry, but time is still required to really get to know the person and develop deeper and more meaningful connections. Besides that, the routine was totally different from what we were used to and that also took us some time to get familiar with. At times, it’s also the language, cultural and religious differences you have to adapt to when traveling to new places. However, all you need is an open mind, open heart, patience and willingness to learn about the unknown. It’s always worth the experience! #santardtravels

🔥SUBSCRIBE 🔥to our youtube channel (link in BIO) to not miss out on our volunteering adventures Part 2 coming out soon! ———————————————— We spent two weeks volunteering in their beautiful homestead and it was truly a fantastic experience! Clare, Edgars and Ozzie are such an amazing family! Surrounded by nature, which is simply beautiful, we are happy that most of our tasks were outside. We collected fresh birch juice, picked forest garlic, collected fresh eggs on a daily basis. We chopped and stacked some wood. We managed to weed the garden and plant some onions. We stacked hay in the barn and fed the animals. We enjoyed every single thing we did! Both of them are great at so many things, we were happy to observe their work and life as well as hear some advise. Little Ozzie was such a joy to be around. He is the most amazing 3 years old you will ever see! Besides that, they are super fun to be around. We worked hard and we enjoyed our free time even harder. Some great afternoon chilling with BBQ, music nights and we ended our two weeks with amazeballs Easter Party! #santardtravels

It has been a while with only grey colour on a palette, but spring has brought some colours to our lives ☀️ #santardtravels

Yesterday we went to check out some great spots along the north coast in Latvia. We stopped at Ainazi North Mole for a walk along the beach. It was so close to the Estonian border that while looking for the right way to get there with a car, we entered Estonia. Oh well, five minutes later we turned around and had a laugh about our shortest trip to Estonia. At least Ard can say he has been to Estonia now 😁 More than half a kilometre long section of the Northern Wavebreaker in Ainazi has survived till these days. It stretches through coastal meadows and rewards you with a beautiful and really quiet beach at the end. A good spot if you want to bring your other half for a romantic walk or catch a sunset together! #santardtravels

We are so in love with the house! 😍 They have created a beautiful place with so much character in it. Oh well, it’s not only the house I’m talking about but the whole homestead and the lifestyle they chose. Their artistic and creative characters shine through every corner and every piece in here. The whole homestead is decorated in Bohemian style and it looks amazing! It’s a bright, patterned, multi-cultural melange of memorable layers and elements you simply can’t miss or forget for its uniqueness. Cozy, relaxed and simply beautiful! We are lucky to be here. #santardtravels

It’s Monday and we begin a brand new week at this lovely yet busy homestead. As they try to be as self sustainable as possible, there is always a job lined up for us. Additionally it’s spring, meaning a lot of preparation for the season to come. We spend most of our days out in the garden or the forest getting things done. However, our daily routine jobs include feeding the animals (goats, sheep, chickens, a cat and a dog) and we also take turns to prepare meals for ourselves and the family. Picking herbs from the forest and collecting fresh eggs on a daily basis adds to our cooking ingredients. We collect fresh birch juice every morning and drink that instead of a water. As the house is wood-heated, we make sure to collect and bring enough wood to keep all of us warm at night. Certainly it’s a beautiful way of life, but it sure does require a lot of work on a daily basis. And we are getting our hands dirty here! #santardtravels

I’ve always been a city boy throughout my whole life, always wondering what life has to offer other than the one I already know. So, I decided to get out of my bubble to experience life on the other side of the scale. The very first time I stepped into the country side in the middle of nowhere, I felt a sense of freedom. Coming from Singapore, space wasn’t something that I was used to. Here, the air is always fresh and if you pause for that moment, the only music you hear is from the nature. If you choose the country-life, there’s also a lot of challenges you’d face. In the city, everything is at your fingertips and most usually at the click of a button. In the city, when you’re bored you could probably go to the movies or if you’re hungry, you can always order in. Here, a lot of manual labor goes into the simple things. I have to admit that despite the beautiful silence of the nature, I haven’t fully been able to keep still and taking things at a slower pace. I am fully guilty of that and always ever ready to learn to acclimatize myself to newer surroundings.#santardtravels

There down by the river We worked hard. first time experience for Ard Chopping wood and Stacking hay in the barn. Countryside life, House by the river. Simple life, Oh happy life! Santa’s childhood memories. Countryside house and barn Busy days in a farm Yet with never ending charm. Countryside life, House by the river. Simple life, Oh happy life! #santardtravels

It’s Friyayyy! That means work for the week is done and we are ready to enjoy the weekend! It has been a great one week of reconnecting with the mother nature and lots of hard work. We also learned bunch of new things and most importantly we enjoyed what we did. Volunteering is a great way of helping others but it’s also a wonderful way of picking up new skills and meeting awesome people. So far our volunteering journey has been a fantastic experience, let’s see what next week has to offer! But for now, lets put some more wood in that bonfire and begin our BBQ night! Have a great Friday everybody! ✌🏽 #santardtravels

Meet Darlene, the one and only escape artist! Yesterday, she escaped from the barn and we had a hard time containing her. Eventually, once she got too scared of us, she went into the barn on her own accord. Going back to the old times where life was much simpler. The animals were your friends growing up, surrounded by the astonishing evergreen forest. The only sounds you hear are that of the animals and the wind rustling through the trees. Not everybody chooses to be on their own far far away from the city. It is easy to be comfortable in the city. But if you were to take this route, you’ll realise that away from the hustle and bustle of the city, lies real tranquility. At the end of the day, the choice is yours. #santardtravels

Fresh air, fresh wild garlic, fresh birch juice LOVE the life of countryside! #santardtravels

Early this morning we went to the forest nearby and picked some wild garlic, which we will be using to prepare our meals today. It’s found in moist woodlands during April and May and is great for your health. It works as a natural antibiotic, supports good cardiovascular health, regulates blood sugar levels and, they say, it even slows down the ageing! And don’t worry, your breath won’t smell too bad! All in the name of health! #santardtravels

We have been quite off the grid for the past three days in the countryside of Latvia. Too far for 3G to reach us and that has been amazing for a change. We began our first volunteering journey together as a husband and wife and it has been really interesting so far. It feels totally amazing to live in the middle of nowhere, where the nearest town is 9km away. Waking up to the song of the roosters and enjoying our morning coffee with just the chirping of the birds. Lots of first times for Ard as he has never lived in the countryside before. First time chopping and stacking wood, first time cleaning the barn and many many more to come. On the other hand, Santa is delighted to be back to the life she experienced as a kid which was growing up in the country side. #santardtravels

Have you watched our latest video where we visit The Great Kemeri Bog in Latvia? It’s such a beautiful place! Let us know what you think about it below! You can find the link in our BIO. Also SUBSCRIBE to our channel not to miss out on our video next week where we embark on our volunteering journey in Latvia 🇱🇻 #santardtravels

You don’t have to go far out of the city to catch a beautiful sunset! This spot in Riga’s city centre overlooking Vansu Bridge that crosses Daugava River, the second longest river in Latvia, is pretty amazing. After a long walk through the Old Town Riga we sat down for our dinner date and experienced yet another beautiful golden hour. #santardtravels

Hold my hand! It’s just me and you, Facing the big wide world. The colours so bright, Are you gonna be alright? As long as I’m with you No world is too wide, No color too bright. Just hold my hand, Keep walking. Never let me outta your sight. For we are each other’s strength, And it has a familiar scent. The scent of true love and trust. I will never walk away even if I must, Because I trust. Just hold my hand, Together we gonna be alright! #santardtravels

Latvia, you are pretty amazing! At the beautiful spot where two rivers Mūsa and Mēmele converge into Lielupe river. What a beautiful sight! Located in the city of Bauska, a 60km ride away from Riga, you’ll also find Old Castles and Palaces. Latvia isn’t just about the Balzam drink, it’s also about never-ending greenery and magical forests. We both can’t wait to explore more of Latvia! #santardtravels

Chasing sunsets with the love of my life ♥️ #santardtravels

Yesterday we went for a road trip to a beautiful countryside of Latvia. It was totally unplanned and spontaneous yet we had a blast! On the way, we sang our childhood favourite songs and shared our forgotten stories. We visited old castles, had a picnic and danced by the river while watching the sun go down. The golden hour is always special but it becomes even more special when you share it with the people you love. #santardtravels

We have been in each other’s lives for more than four years now. Four beautiful and crazy years! Like everybody else we have gone through many obstacles in our lives and in our relationship. Nobody has it perfect. Perfect doesn’t exist, but we strive to be better day by day. Each day is a new learning experience because change is constant. Embrace the change with an open mind and heart, be patient and everything will pan out for you! Make sure to check out our new youtube channel and SUBSCRIBE to follow our happy and not so happy moments all around the world! Link in Bio ☝🏽 #santardtravels

Ard grew up and spent most of his years in the city being part of the fast paced environment every day. However he has always been curious of what it would be like to live close to the nature. During our travels he surely will have a chance to find out! #santardtravels

We walked for more than 14km yesterday, but who cares about the distance when you are enjoying it right!? . To experience the transition from winter to spring is something special. The sun visits us more often, snow melts and you can smell the earth coming back to life. The first flowers are making their way through and bit by bit everything is turning green again. You can hear birds returning and entertaining us with their beautiful songs. Life is all bright again! . Spring is Santa’s favourite season and yesterday she went totally crazy while we made our way through the forests and the bog 🌱 #santardtravels

Yesterday was such a lovely weather outside, we took advantage of that and visited Great Kemeri Bog. We took the long boardwalk of ~3,4km (the short one is ~1,4km) which took us to the world of moss, small pine trees, deep pools and tiny dark lakes. Absolutely beautiful! The long trail also has an observation platform and offers a magnificent view of the bog above. We heard this place is even more beautiful during the golden hours of sunrise and sunset ☀️ #santardtravels

Hey, look what I found! It’s a picture from our honeymoon, two years ago, can’t tell right? It’s because instead of traditional romance we chose to hike the second highest active volcano in Indonesia. Mount Rinjani 3726 meters baby! #santardtravels

Santa is lucky to have had the experience of growing up in beautiful Latvia. It’s less than two million people living in Latvia which means you can go visit places without worrying about the crowds. The nature is stunning and the air is fresh. Many rivers, lakes, swamps and a beautiful beach. Green forests and colourful fields. We can’t wait for our camping trips, spring hurry up! #santardtravels

We are back in Latvia, but where is the spring? It was snowing today! 😬 We hid some sunshine in our pockets but it has surely escaped again. Riga is our base for a few months now and we are happy to be home. We are excited to explore more of Latvia and the neighbouring countries. We just hope for some sunshine through those thick and grey clouds ☀️ #santardtravels

We love to eat and we love to snack especially when we travel. Food is part of cultural experience so no way we are missing that! But for now, enough of croissants and pastries, it’s time to fly back to Riga and work on those extra kgs 😁 #santardtravels

Ard has his own way of greeting the Eiffel Tower. 👋🏽 Quieres bailar mi amigo? #santardtravels

Travelling together with your other half is amazing. You get to live and share all the great experiences with each other, however it is not always easy. Every relationship requires work and it doesn’t get any easier when you travel because you spend most of the time together. So it’s very important to communicate and find a compromise in everything you do. Even though you are travelling together, not necessarily everything has to be done together. Every human being needs their space and we are trying to give that to each other. Besides being a husband & wife we are two individuals with their own needs, ambitions and dreams. Being together means supporting that too. #santardtravels

Notre-Dame de Paris is the most famous and most visited of the Gothic cathedrals of the Middle Ages and is distinguished for it’s size, antiquity, and architectural interest. Alluring and detailed sculptures throughout and if you’re interested in having a free mass while tourists take pictures of you, the admission to Notre Dame is free so head inside for more treasures, it’s absolutely beautiful! #santardtravels

We love how each brassiere are nestled at each corner of every street. Great for people watching and let the world go by. We are pretty sure that’s the favourite pastime of the French. Watching and judging it, of course. Who’s wearing what? Who’s dating whom? The birth of the Gothic style architecture, each piece unique and distinct from one another. Just like the people, the architecture is so diverse, tells you different stories from different times that has formed Paris, today. #santardtravels

Today was our big date with the World’s famous Eiffel Tower. It’s one of the most visited attractions in the world and also considered as a symbol of love. . We couldn’t skip it as they say you haven’t been to Paris if you haven’t visited the Eiffel Tower. Despite the crowd, picnicking having their fair share of Vitamin D, we can’t deny that it was quite lovely with the amazing weather. Crowds are something you can’t escape. . We loved the park and canal just right next to it. It’s a great place for a picnic or just a chill afternoon in the sunshine. . By the way, did you know that repainting the tower, which happens every seven years, requires 60 tonnes of paint? 😳 #santardtravels

We love wandering around the streets and look for gems in the simplest things. We appreciate simplicity in everything we do. We are simple at heart and the way we lead our life. Small things are always the ones that matter. A small gesture of kindness, honest conversation and a genuine smile goes a long way. . And here Santa has found yet another beautiful corner of Paris to share her big smile with the world 😊 #santardtravels

Time flies! It’s already been a week in Paris! . We are taking it easy though by spending some time exploring the city together and quite a bit of time just enjoying the days as they go by. . For our walks, we usually prepare our own meals at home for ☝️ it’s cheaper and we can make it exactly how we want it. . We have our own sports to keep ourself fit, Ard really enjoys running and running in the cold weather is a new experience an it has been exciting for him. Santa mostly does yoga. She stays as far as she can from running 😁 When we workout together we tend to do strength workouts or Acro Yoga. . Other than that we spend time getting to know more of Nabil’s life here in France. We catch up with his family and friends and taste wonderful food wherever we go. . We also try to capture all the good and not so good moments for the memories. It’s always nice to look back and reflect on your experiences along the way. #santardtravels

Ard is usually the one behind the camera, he loves capturing everything and everyone around him. Unfortunately, he still doesn’t get to be in a lot of pictures only because Santa is quite the opposite when it comes to photography 😂 #santardtravels

Do you know what’s the best place to go to in order to appreciate some art? . In paris you don’t have to spend money on famous museums to see art. Go out in the streets there is art all around you. Take a walk and you will be astounded how bright and beautiful the street art is. From walls at the train station to grand buildings in the centre of Paris, just look around! . I don’t think enough people notice it and give it the attention it should. Not many consider it art. Do you? #santardtravels

Today we walked 10 km from Bobigny to Paris central. We chose to follow the canal as we were promised some great street art along the way. Indeed it was great! . Also the weather was in much better mood today and spoiled us with some sunshine. We were happy to be out and about. . Watch our daily stories for more!

Paris strikes as a busy and very diverse city to us. One of the first few things you would definitely notice is so many people from different parts of the world and that’s awesome! Living among different cultures, races and religions widens your perspective and you learn so much more. You get to know different ways of life, different practices of living and to realise that we are not so much different after all. In a multicultural environment we also have to learn to be patient and tolerant towards each other. Let the differences bring us closer instead of tearing us apart!

It’s always nice to get to know the locals while you travel. They are the ones who will show you the real life, show you the hidden jems and give you the best tips. . We are so lucky to have Nabil. He has been an incredible host. Not only we get to stay with him and his family but he also has showed us around the city. Nabil introduced us with his friends too, as they say, the more the merrier! . On your next trip don’t be shy, go and say HI to some locals! Strangers are just friends waiting to happen. 😉 #santardtravels

Two individuals from very different backgrounds and totally different parts of the world yet we found our way towards each other. ♥️ . . . . . #santardtravels  #travel  #travelphotography  ##love  #happy  #igdaily  #photooftheday  #instapic  #instalike  #couplegoals  #travelgram  #jj  #cute  #picoftheday  #muslimtravelers  #instatravel  #igtravel  #latviangirl  #turban  #muslimahfashion  #fashion  #hijaber
