Reminiscing again ✨ My brain is just too active tonight, so after trying to get to sleep for a while with no luck, I began flipping through old photos.
This one was taken in Mandalay in October 2017 during my trip to Myanmar. At the Kuthodaw Pagoda, you can find the world’s largest book. Inside of each of these stupas is a stone tablet there are 730 altogether! Inscribed into the stone on both sides, these Buddhist scriptures actually total 1,460 “pages” and took 8 years to carve 😯!!! Of all of the places I’ve visited in the past few years, I’d probably have to put Myanmar in the top 5. Tourism has been growing in the area, and I definitely think we picked the right time to go. Pack your things and get on a flight before it gets too touristy! ++ Side note: I think I’ve really been missing Myanmar lately. I can’t stop thinking about the delicious tea with condensed milk I had in Yangon, the little kids asking for foreign currency in exchange for hand drawn postcards (albeit probably more for their parents’/family’s benefit rather than curiosity), the captivating sunrises and sunsets, the list goes on. I even found myself wearing some of the clothes I purchased in Myanmar just yesterday. So maybe it’s fitting that I happened upon this photo that I never shared with you all. Hope you like it! 💕⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
