So let me tell you a little story. 📖
30 years ago, my mom bought me tickets to go to see new kids on the block in Toronto. That same year, my friend Carolyn went to the same concert in a different city. Years later, Carolyn and I would become great friends when we both worked on a project with Kenny Chesney. Such great friends, that one night at a Celine Dion concert while we were singing our butts off at the top of our lungs, I would ask her to be my daughters godmother.
Last night, Lennox and I enjoyed a girls’ night at the Mixed Tape tour in Toronto where my friend, and her godmother, was working as a tour manager 30 years after seeing her favorite boy band. It was the perfect storm and we all got to hang before the show and catch up a little.
* Sidenote - We all live within five minutes of each other, but it takes us moving to TO for the summer to find time to hang out. 😀
Carolyn had to go back to work but just before the song Cover Girl, my sweet friend came and grabbed Lennox and brought her down to the stage. And then this happened. . . (see vids) My sweet little Lennox became the cover girl. Leni, was beaming from ear to ear as you will see in videos. She couldn’t have been more excited when she came off that stage and I was so proud of her for being so brave and for spontaneously dancing. If you listen really closely, you can hear Donnie chuckle when she starts dancing with him. For the rest of the night, she signed autographs and took pictures with all of the ladies who were a little jealous and wanted to live vicariously through her. It was the cutest thing. Thanks Aunt Carolyn. Dreams do come true. For you and her. Okay, So my dream also came through vicariously through her.
The only downside is that Leni really wanted to tell Donnie Wahlberg that our pug was named after him. She didn’t get the chance to so @donniewahlberg if you see this, Lennox wanted to tell you that we named our dog Donnie after the bad boy (naughty as your shirt said last night) in NKOTB. He is making you proud. .
