Sitting in a bus on my way to defenitely the most exciting trip so far in my life. I couldn’t even sleep last night. 🙈 This will be a trip getting to know my Karelian roots, exploring the Russian part of Karelia where our family was evacuated from during the wars. First time ever in Russia, too. •
Lately I’ve actually been thinking a lot about the lifes of the past generations with a heavy heart... 🖤 Last week we sadly had the funeral of my other grandmother from my mum’s side. At the memorial service we came to think about how important memories really are. Especially when you have lost someone but also in the daily life. What would life even be without memory or memories?
Someone wise then said that memories indeed are a very important thing and especially precious when shared with others. It is important to share memories and past events with younger generations too because it teaches them a lot about the continuing chain of generations and also helps them understand who they are and what their place in that chain is.
With these words from last weekend in my mind, I’m super eager to see, listen and learn during these next couple of days. ❤️ The bus is packed with 15 other relatives of the Forsman family and I’m sure this will be a trip to remember! 🚎👌🏻
