1902: The first logo of Mercedes did not use imagery or design elements. Instead, they used an ellipse around the word “Mercedes” coupled with a black background and silver-gray text.
1909: Industrial designer Gottlieb Daimler designed the Tri-Star logo symbolizing the automobile company’s dominance over Land, Air, and Sea. 🌊
1916: They made changes again in 1916 where they added four stars above their existing Tri-Star emblem. The company also added a circle, encompassing the entire logo and added the ‘Mercedes’ name.
1926: When Benz & Cie merged with Daimler-Benz AG, they added ‘Benz’ and included a laurel wreath in the Mercedes Logo.
2011: Mercedes polished their logo by removing their company name and keeping the silver hue that represents sophistication, creativity, and perfection.
