We spoke to Ariya about what types of exercise she enjoys and why her fitness is important to her. “I usually exercise 3 times a week, and I prefer to workout in the morning because it helps to speed up your metabolism for the rest of the day. That said, my schedule doesn’t always allow for a morning session so if I have to fit it in later in the day then I will.
I do quite a lot of bodyweight training, and that’s always at home. My husband does have hand weights which I could use but I find bodyweight training still gets great results, all I need is my trusty yoga mat! I love the fact that when you work out at home it seems easy to fit in around everything else, it’s so convenient. I am always trying to improve my flexibility, so I do a lot of stretching as part of my routine.
I would like to increase my stamina, so I have been running a bit and I attend a local dance class which I love. Cardio is probably my least favourite form of exercise, but I love dancing and the class I go to is challenging enough to leave me out of breath and drenched in sweat! It raises my heart rate, improves my stamina and I like feeling that I’ve worked hard.
I also like to go hiking, it isn’t as intense as running or dancing but if you cover a good distance and go at a good pace you do feel the benefit of the exercise, sometimes my leg muscles really ache after a good hike. Exercising in the fresh air is definitely good for the soul too - plus it’s a great one to do with friends or family. It’s much better to catch up with someone while you stride it out up a hill than sit eating and drinking in a cafe!” #instapassport #thecreative #artofvisuals #aroundtheworldpix #ig_masterpiece #theprettycities #flashesofdelight #travelog #mytinyatlas #visualmobs #theglobewanderer #forahappymoment #exploringtheglobe #travelon #awesome_earthpix #campinassp #visualoflife #awesome_naturepix #roamtheplanet #unlimitedparadise #dametraveler #planetdiscovery #discoveryearth #brum #ilovebrum #birminghamlife #igersbirmingham #photosofengland
