. Looking forward to another day . . . 💫 -- Instead of going to The Victoria Peak, my siblings and I opted to hike this less touristy place that gives a breathtaking panoramic view of the Kowloon Peninsula. It is raining hard on the day before our scheduled hike, so we are lucky to experience a clear, sunny day as we get here. -- Do you also enjoy hiking with family or friends or do you prefer to have some lone time as you hike? Share with me your best hiking experience.🤩

May your troubles be less and your blessings be more, And nothing but happiness come through your door. - Irish Proverb . . We drove through Wicklow Mountains towards the end of our trip. And as we stopped at the peak, it was so peaceful and quiet....and then the ominous, dark storm clouds started to roll in... . I literally snapped bunch of pictures in a hurry, as we drove ahead of the thunderstorm and heavy downpour. It was a short lived excursion, but a one more reason to go back to Ireland. 🍀 . . . . There is no place like London. I love this city to the moon and back and then some more. I love its chilly wind and all the weather moods. I love the sound of waves, crashing in Thames, overwhelmed with joy of being there. I love the whispers of old stones, preserving the secrets of the past within them. I love the harmony of it, of past and present coexisting peacefully. I love how the whole array of life perfectly fits within this city as everything can be found there. I just can’t stop admiring it. I first saw it when I was 12. It was a love at the first sight, which didn’t fade 10 years later.

Stereotypes are one of the most dangerous things which we face everyday. I perfectly understand why we have them: the world is so incomprehensibly vast and we are naturally afraid of facing it in its fullest. I get that. Really. Though the stereotypes we created to easen the interactions with this world, are a real danger. They make us believe that we know things. That we know people we hardly talked with. Whereas the reality could (and generally is) the complete opposite. Not all the Russians drink vodka 24-7. Not all the British are arrogant. Not all the American are obese. Not all the boys and men are obliged to be strong, never showing their emotions. Not all the girls and women are dreaming of getting married and having children. Not all the old people are wise. Not all the young people are reckless. Not all the religious people are brain-washed sexist. The list goes on and on as there’s no shortage of stereotypes as well as there’s no shortage of fears. No shortage of the things which are yet to comprehend. Those stereotypes may ruin peoples’ lives, too, undermining their self-confidence, making them follow the society’s expectations instead of their dreams. I think that, whenever you meet anyone, however hard it may be, try not to judge. Try not to categorize. Try keeping your heart and mind open.

This very day, 3 years ago my entire life broke into myriad of tiny pieces, impossible to reassemble. It broke with such a noise that it still haunts me in my darkest nightmares. Few words forming an unspeakable gap. After several years I can say that time doesn’t heal. And neither do any of the meds, though they make the life bearable a bit. The only thing that helps is moving forward, adapting, evolving and changing. It hurts like hell and there is no pleasant shortcut, but eventually, through all that pain, it helps. It gives reasons to live, too. Little, tiny reasons like achieving this or that, seeing things, but, when placed together, they provide with some sort of a path. Something else from the void of pain and despair, at least. Not very pleasant, but change. However, I am grateful for the experience. It taught me a lot of important things. It showed me what the wonderful people my friends are, always having my back. Life is full of such things. They are called “experience” and are supposed to make you stronger. They also make us appreciate things we took for granted. It reminds that there is no “granted” at all. Enjoy everything you have while you can, because you never know when it will be over.

That’s probably the most touristic picture one could get in London, especially with Big Ben now being obscured with scaffolding. For those eager for precise locations, here it is: 51°30′48.42″N 00°05′51.16″W. The more I travel (and do thoughtful research before doing so), the more despise towards tourists I face. Well, obviously, there is a clear borderline between tourists and travelers, banning self-proclaimed travelers from all the touristic spots, and treating the tourists as some brainless creatures which can survive solely in large and loud organized groups. Can’t say that I’m content with such split. For starters, there is sometimes a pretty good reason for some place to become a touristic spot. Thus, not including it into a travel plan, you risk missing out something really significant. For example, St. Paul’s Cathedral is famous not (only) because it looks good on photos. It has a whole array of significances. The main cathedral of Anglican religion, created as opposite to Catholicism and yet as mighty and powerful as it. The architectural masterpiece of Sir Cristopher Wren. The seat of bishop of London, the memory of the Great Fire of London and so much more... I guess, what I want to say is that there is nothing wrong with being a tourist. There is nothing wrong with visiting famous landmarks and not only lesser-known ones. What is more, tourists aren’t the barbarians who throw litter everywhere and take a piece of mummy with them as a souvenir from a faraway land. Traveling has become easier. Tourist and traveler have more in common than one may expect.

At the first glance, there is nothing extraordinary about this street. In fact, it’s pretty neat and simple, a typical Oxford beauty. However, not for those who see. It was this very place in wintertime which inspired C. S. Lewis to write his famous Narnia series. Remember the first appearance of Narnia to Lucy? Ornate door resembling one from the wooden wardrobe, smiling friendly fawn and the lonely lamp-post... All of that really exists right opposite the University Church of St. Mary the Virgin. This tiny street was turned into a great snowy wonderland, a whole world by the imagination of one person. The power of imagination never fails to impress me. I think that imagination is our superpower, which helps us to transform the world, to create better future along with captivating stories. And who are we without the stories we absorbed? Whom would we be without them?

Found the place from my phone’s case! Embarking on a journey across time and space! It doesn’t take long to guess who is my favorite superhero of all times. That would be Doctor Who. I think, I could even name the Doctor as my role model sometimes. I think that there is a great deal of things to learn from the Doctor. For starters, (s)he is around one thousand years old, and, regardless of age, is still eager to discover the world, staying curious, smart and open-minded. This is the only hero I know whose genetic abilities do not make them a monster (a.k.a. the powerful guardian), in fact, (s)he is probably more human than we are, having two hearts. Prompting compassion and understanding instead of showing off the strength and destroying things as well as lives of everyone unfortunate enough to come close. This is the only hero I know with a straightforward and ultimate dislike for weapons, opting for a screwdriver instead. A hero, who is bound to fix things which became broken. Never destroy for good. This is the hero who brings hope. This is the hero who encourages to think, to be kind, to stay human. This is the hero I would love to become one day.
