People tell me they think fat loss is hard.  And I agree.  It’s definitely hard. Maybe even harder as we get older. - Building muscle is hard too. - And menopause - let’s not get started on how hard THAT is. - And being consistent is really hard. - So now what? - So we agree it’s all hard, Now what? - The way I look at it is you have a choice. - 1️⃣You can keep saying it’s hard and stay in the It’s Hard Hamster Wheel OR 2️⃣You can dig deep, work hard and keep going anyway. - Look, you will get frustrated, I guarantee it.  And 100% there will be days where you just want to say screw it. - But if you grit down and keep going, especially when you feel like quitting, you will start to turn the corner. You will start creating habits that will keep you going even through tougher times. - Don’t allow the notion that it’s hard be your excuse for why you aren’t progressing. - So what can you do to push through? - ✅Be prepared. Plan. ✅Get rid of any formal timelines in your head. This is for life. ✅If you get off track, get right back on. ✅Don’t invest emotion in your scale weight. Looks like everything is going great for you.” - And that’s my point, I didn’t say it as if I’m a victim, I say it because way more then I used to, I willingly walk into situations that humble me and force me to find solutions. I look for failure. - If something sucks, but it’s worth it, I’ll sit in it until I find solutions. - If I can’t, I’ll hire someone to fix my dishwasher, design an EBOOK, or design my workout programs and help me with nutrition. - But some of you need to stop going back to the start of the “race” just because you scraped your knee or hit a speed bump. - Perspective. - You’re being your own worst enemy and you’re not gonna buy a meal plan or someone’s “special” workout, or sweat enough, to make up for the fact you’ve got the audacity to think this change your making won’t come with a little adversity and discomfort. - Those who reach their goals solve those problems. Very happy with 1lb off this morning, brings my total for the last 3 weeks (and August) to 9lbs, I haven't seen a monthly loss like that in at least a year. I started a new monthly tracker too as I used to find these really motivating. Cracking back on with it this week, it's 10 days til our holiday and I'd love to get to 2 stone loss, doable but not the end of the world if I don't manage it. Yesterday I ate very little. My first two meals were full on plan and on schedule. But then I got a coffee from Starbucks. ✨ MONDAY MOTIVATION ✨ Getting myself back on track and motivated for the week ahead which this photo that I took last weekend when I fitted into a size 8 (😱😱) jumper in @shopmatalan  🙌🏻 I’m by no means a size 8 but when I tried on the size 10 and it was too big on me, I couldn’t believe it. It made me think of the days when I would be going into the changing rooms with size 16/18 clothes and sometimes, even they were too tight. Another good week, and I’m honestly not sure how this happened. I wasn’t great this week, haven’t been tracking my food. I started the week still feeling like death from bronchitis (although I think I had the flu) and then celebrated my 42nd birthday on Wednesday, and our 12 year wedding anniversary on Sunday with dinner at a hibachi grill last night. 365 days of you and me ❤️ yesterday we celebrated our 1 year anniversary. I could post a million photos where we looked lovely, but this probably sums up our relationship more than anything else. We’re silly, childish and crazy in love. I’d rather have 8 chins laughing with you than constantly worrying about what I look like. You rescued me and taught me what it was like to have fun again, to be silly, to embrace life and to be weird. But I guess most of all, you showed me what it was like to truly be loved and respected by someone, to support and grow as a couple but also individually too. Meeting you a year ago was life changing ❤️

When I think about it, I’m sometimes ashamed that my daughter witnessed my self-loathing for so many years. I always preached self-confidence to her but I couldn’t muster up the empathy to embrace it myself because I knew what she didn’t… I was fat and fat was humiliating. When I look at this picture from our family trip in 2016 I know my sweet girl isn’t judging me or ashamed of me. She’s simply looking up to her mom… following my lead… learning how she should feel about her own body. If I could go back I would have seen myself through her eyes and realized that my weight was never the problem. It was my poor self-confidence and terrible self-esteem that was humiliating- not my body. I’m proud of the goals I’ve achieved and continue to work hard towards and I’m proud that my girls can witness my new healthy lifestyle. But I am even more proud that my daughters have a strong mom to look up to. Not because I weigh less, but because I know better. I know that my self-worth and self-confidence is in no way related to the size of my body or societies’ perception of it. And instead of telling them how to have self-confidence ... Berrylicious Microwave in a minute Muffin 🤤 Take a little less than a quarter cup of quick oats, 1 egg, a small handful of blueberries, and some brown sugar or Stevia if you like things sweet, and mix it all up in a coffee mug. If you want your muffin a little moist a tablespoon of plain soymilk or almond milk will do it. Then place in the microwave for 1 min. Watch it carefully! This could overflow! If the muffin top does not look firm, place back in 30 sec at a time. Once ready, flip mug upside down onto a plate and slice some fresh strawberries to decorate. Day 5- 9 Set 20 Rep- Side donkey and crunches. Finished full set with 100 pulsing crunches. I didn't really want to do this today, but I know I won't tomorrow so I pushed myself. Before I started I decided I'll do 100 and the rest later. When I reached 100, I was physically tired with this uphill struggle, but I thought do 20 more then I'll have just 60 to do later, so Ipushed myself more. But once I done 120, what's the point in leaving 60, so I pushed myself a bit more, which now felt like down hill race and I finished the full 180 reps. I was now mentally charged so rounded things off with a bit more abs . I am glad I completed the sets. Happy Monday! Pre-tracking has become essential to my morning routine. Not only does to help me stay on plan throughout the day, it allows me to be aware of what’s going into my body and how it affects my goal. I love having the numbers right in front of me and instantly knowing how treats or going off plan can steer me away from my goals.
