“The graveyard is the richest place on earth, because it is here that you will find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled, the books that were never written, the songs that were never sung, the inventions that were never shared, the cures that were never discovered, all because someone was too afraid to take that first step, keep with the problem, or determined to carry out their dream.” @thelesbrown
What is life without having dreams?” I’ve had this recurring thought in my mind for awhile now, and I thought I’d speak my thoughts into existence.
It’s a simple question, yet it scares the hell out of the majority of people. Why?
Fear of failing? I can understand that, but without failure, one can’t truly grow and come into their own. Failure is a huge part of life, it shows you didn’t stay in your comfort box.
Is it not knowing what your purpose in life is? Myself, all of the isolation I’ve had, the nights I’ve spent in the wilderness, and the trips I’ve taken have played a huge role in the way that I want my life to be in a few years, and the way I’ve planned out my dreams accordingly.
Scared of change? Sure. Comfort is easy. Routine is good, but you’ve got to break the monotony of life. Take a solo trip, or with friends. Do something that scares you. But, at some point you have to change things up if you want to fully immerse yourself into your dreams, because your dreams require everything from you.
Are you worried about what others will think about your dreams? I know a few people who have families that push them to follow in their footsteps and join the “family business,” or be a lawyer because they’re a lawyer, etc. I know a few people who care so much about what others think that they will and have changed their entire life’s course to please others and not truly follow their own passion. I understand everything above, but this one I don’t. How can you let someone dictate the way you live your life and how you live it. Follow your dreams with every breath in your body because its your life and nobody is going to do these things for you. If you read this entire thing, leave your thoughts below, I’d love to hear. #neverstopexploring
