Different than a mentor, who answers questions a sponsor fights for you when you’re not in the room. đŸ‘©â€đŸ’» So, who is fighting for you? For your promotion? For approval on that new project that gives you more visibility? For that raise? For that leap to take on the department head role? 
 
 If you don’t know, it means you likely don’t have someone fighting for you. And guess what? No one achieves their dreams alone. We all need sponsors and advocates - so spend today thinking about your relationships at work, and who opens doors for you. Then consider how you can foster those relationships - you don’t know where they’ll take you. 
 
 And let’s also think who YOU can fight for. Stop thinking about pure mentorship, but how you can actively invest in others to get them where they want to go. I don’t admire a lot of people. This isn’t pride, it’s just there’s a lot being thrown out there and I’m super cautious of the people I let inspire me. . @badassboz  is at the top of my list. I can give you a long list of why I find her so inspiring (major fact being that her style game is đŸ’ȘđŸŸ) but the long and short of it is SHE IS BAD ASS and that is that. While I admire this woman for all the work she’s done and continues to do in marketing and advertising, I find it mad fascinating that I have found myself in the same industry. I meannnn, completely unintentional but damn. . Honestly, seeing an African woman making things happen on a global scale is actually beyond inspiring. This was made in response to a viral video that showed a woman in India berating other women in public, claiming that "they deserved to be raped” for wearing short dresses. This fictitious clothing line of Super Sanskari (ultra-modest/traditional) Sarees emphasizes the fact that “clothing won’t change rapists.” ⁣ ⁣ To quote, "no matter how they dress, every 15 minutes a child in India is sexually assaulted. Expect greatness only. ⁣ ⁣ More about Matt đŸŽ€âŁ ⁣ ⁣ Matt Rivitz (@mattrivitz )is the founder of Sleeping Giants, a crowd-sourced anti-bigotry and corporate responsibility campaign that he started on Twitter as a reaction to the intense racism, sexism and xenophobia found on Breitbart News on the heels of the of the 2016 Presidential Election. The campaign has exploded, with 300,000 followers across Twitter and Facebook and Sleeping Giants chapters in 11 other countries and territories including the EU, France, Canada and Australia, each fighting against bigoted media sources in their own countries. ⁣ ⁣ Anonymous until July 17, 2018, Matt’s identity was exposed without his permission by Tucker Carlson-owned website The Daily Caller, resulting in a coordinated harassment campaign by white supremacists on social media, resulting in death threats against his children and wife.
