Thank you to everyone who is using their platform to highlight this national emergency. Thank you to everyone having the difficult conversations to dispel the myths about Transness. Thank you to everyone taking action to make effective change. For those who are still
ambivalent, please read to the end// I wish everyone could comprehend how hard it is to be the outcasts of a deeply marginalized community. To belong to a group of people that have known disenfranchisement from the moment they were stolen from their native shores, yet reject their own flesh based upon standards set by their captors. I need you all to know how frustrating it is to desperately need your people to show up for you the way you show up for them, but receive a lukewarm lip service. If everyone could understand these things they would know a significant piece of what it is to black and trans in America. // •Last Saturday, the body of Chynal Lindsey, a black transgender woman, was found in Dallas with “obvious signs of homicidal violence,” according to police •Layleen Polanco, 27, was found dead in her cell Friday afternoon at Rikers' jail for female inmates, the Rose M. Singer Center, according to officials.
Where is the outrage? // We have watched and participated in the globalal demand to #BringBackOurGirls , but we're still waiting for our countrymen to cry out for our nation to #StopKillingUs . We are fighting for all of our Black lives to matter. When will Black #TransLivesMatter ? ALSO, all of the #LGBTQIA + organizations co-opting #TransVisibility for funding... Where is the action?
